Tattooed Santa 2012
Tattooed Santa Toy and Food cruise hosted by Thrive Studios!
This is NOT your traditional Santa toy and food drive! Let’s face it, we’re not all on the “Nice” list and the “Naughty” folks can spread some Christmas cheer too! Jesse Villemaire, owner of Thrive Studios Tattoos and Piercings will be decked out in full Santa gear, on his Harley Davidson and collecting donations for our local Cambridge Self Help Food Bank. Donations of new toys and non perishable food items will be kindly accepted at Thrive Studios, 1037 King St E, Cambridge (Preston) on December 24th between 12-4pm. Bring a camera, and snap a photo with a bad ass, tattooed Santa Claus!

Where did this idea come from?
When I was a kid I remember my father dressing up as Santa with a few of his buddies and they would ride their motorcycles across town handing out candy canes and stopping for numerous photos along the way. Weather permitting; this seemed to be a yearly event that bought smiles to many faces throughout the community!
In December of 2011 I decided to continue this tradition and followed in my fathers footsteps. On Christmas Eve Day I put on my Santa suit, hoped on my Harley and rode around Cambridge to all the local shopping centers. I stopped out front of each location for a limited amount of time and posed for numerous photos. I also handed out $5 Tim Horton gift cards to everyone that stopped me for a photo.
It was amazing watching the smiles from people as I cruised by on a Harley. With everyone squeezing in their last minute shopping, you can see the stress on many shoppers faces. I like to believe I brought a little last minute cheer to their day!
My favourite memory was out front of Cambridge Centre I was approached by a lady that was driving a bus with mentally challenged adults aboard. She asked if I would be kind enough hop on the bus and say Merry Christmas to all the people inside. I was greeted with the most enthusiasm and joy and even having a few of them tear up, including myself! Now I know why my father did this as often as he could!
This year I started thinking, how can I continue my father’s tradition while also contributing to our community? I contacted the local Cambridge Food Bank and they were thrilled with my Santa toy and food cruise idea. The local Cambridge Times Newspaper and The Record also interviewed me right away to help promote this cruise. 107.5 Dave FM is also kind enough to share the info live on the air!
Please help promote this event by sharing it with your friends and family. I would love to make this a yearly event and continue to help others that are less fortunate than us. Please show your support on Christmas Eve Day and stop by Thrive Studios to donate a new toy or non perishable food item!
